The location is great. The facility is simple, with no frills but clean, well maintained and it's quiet. It is easy to have a pet here and there's plenty of spots for them to "go potty" and trashcans and bags to clean up.
Negatives:
However, this is the second stay where our room (different from last time) has had a distinct "wet carpet" smell that we could never get rid of whether we kept windows open, etc. This made it bothersome each time we entered our room. While there are airpots with hot water and coffee, each time we to get coffee they were empty, cold or so strong it was undrinkable. Even the hot water was empty. Also, while their message clearly states they take $200 cash or major credit card for the deposit, this time, they did NOT allow for major credit card, only cash. This has to be quite a problem for some people. While the front desk is efficient in their jobs, they rarely even acknowledge or look at you unless you go up to them.

Seems to be undergoing some renovation. The room was very clean, but the fridge needed to be updated - wasn’t as cold as it should be and was rusted on the bottom left corner. For $200 a night, it would mean a lot to the customer if they felt like the facility had their best interests in mind.

I have stayed at many hotels near Camp Pendleton while visiting my husband, and this one is my favorite. The rooms are always clean, the bed is comfortable, friendly staff, and it’s quite affordable. The location is convenient, walking distance to many restaurants, shopping and the beach.

Parking is difficult. Spots are at an angle and small. Hard to reverse out of.

The hotel decent but a bit older inside. The room was clean but worn down a bit. Plus side is the rooms are larger than most. Snacks by front desk has a big variety including frozen hot food choices but can only pay cash. Hallways n elevator coulld be cleaner. Overall price for what you get matches. Oceanside is a great place to be.

They booked it on the wrong day and when I arrived, she couldn’t help me or accommodate us, but she was rude so I’ll stay at your place for different times.
