Desk staff did not allow my daughter to check in (she’s 20), and didn’t problem solve to find alternate solution. When faced with the decision of helping or not, she chose not to. My flight was late and I didn’t check in until almost 1:00am. This put my daughter in an u safe situation.

I did not realize they had breakfast in am so I went to Dennys. The next day I saw while checking out and it looked good.
The property had a island vibe with the high ceiling and foliage. I liked it's location right next to the racetrack.
I am a solo female traveler to attend del mar racetrack and the hotel front desk person gave me a room that was on third floor and secure.He also, kept his voice low when announcing my room so staff could not overhear. I appreciated that.

Coming from Pittsburgh ,and connecting flights, different time zones, my phone was not necessarily accurate time wise . I was very weary, and older, and asked him what was the time actually now. The young girls at the desk beside him looked at me like I was demented.
Maybe they do not realize people travel from outside California. Or they do not travel.
The pool was there but was over run with kids. Are hotels going to come up with adult only pools.? Separate hours?
The window looking out was a parking lot and there was bird poop on it.
Taxi driver charged me 95.00 and then said my card didn't work on his phone, did I have another form of payment. ? This high charge and change of card upset me.
I took uber back and taxi driver from aphaghanistan can go to he'll. He gave me his number and wanted me to give him a time to pick me up to take me to airport or around.

It is old and unkept. The halls to the rooms smelled heavily of marijuana. Our room was dirty and the front desk or housekeeping did not answer the phone to ask them to come see the condition of the room. There was poop stains on the toilet seat and they offered to upgrade our room. which was not really an upgrade as they loved us to a double queen from a king room. They said sorry.
