About This Property

The Beresford Arms Hotel & Suites, designed by Frederick H. Meyer AIA, is a contributing structure to the Nob Hill Hotel District listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our Hotel offers Victorian charm combined with modern amenities and is located a short stroll from area attractions, including cable car lines. The Beresford Arms is located within walking distance to Union Square, Chinatown, the Moscone Convention Center and San Francisco's financial district. With nearby cable cars, guests at the hotel can also easily visit Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. The Hotel hosts daily in the lobby a free continental breakfast including pastries, coffee, yogurt and juice starting 7:30AM and in the late afternoon at 4:30PM is our Wine and Cheese Social hour. Free Wi-fi is also offered in common areas and in-room.

Positives: Loved the vintage decor. Staff was amazingly helpful with my early arrival.
Negatives: Not the hotel's fault but the area is a bit rough. Even with that being the case, the hotel did a good job with security and cleaning the outside of the hotel.

Positives: Convinient location - booked because of kitchen
Negatives: The kitchen was quite outdated and ill equipped- yes there was a pot and pan but so old, beat up and rusty no-one should ever have to use them. The windows were hard to operate, no climate control so room went from cold to hot during the course of each night. Significantly dusty and stale smell of an old building. Right outside our room the hallway ceiling was caving in due to water damage from the roof that did not appear to be remediated.bathroom door was hard to unlock, shower door was broken and off the track, lightbulbs were missing. The bed smelled of someone elses body odor. Thats an initial list of the most offensive aspects of the room.

Negatives: Very noisy location and the rooms do nothing to block the noise.
