Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbia/Laurel

Negatives: The ceiling fan in the bedroom didn't work. Upon departure I was told that something needed to be plugged in somewhere in the room for it to work. That should have been done prior to our arrival.

Negatives: I paid $270 for a room that smelt like puke and smoke. I've never left a bad review in my life, ever, because I knew how important reviews are when it comes to business. We got in very late to check in, it was extremely hot in the room turned on the AC that took a while to kick in, the blackout curtains or covered in stains, I went to get up the next morning to take a shower and someone had put lotion inside the conditioner bottle. That was fun. There's only one remote but I didn't even take the time to ask for another one because it was so late by the time we got in, No extra blankets for the sleep sofa.

Negatives: The indoor pool and washer wasn’t operating. The television did not have google cast but promoted google cast.

Negatives: I loved that I could cook some nights and didn’t have to eat out everyday.

Negatives: You need to put bottle of water in the refrigerator

Negatives: Nope

Negatives: The bedding was very flimsy, the sheets were very thin and crumbled looking, the comforter was too thin; the bedding was below standards for such a hotel. The parking lot was very dirty with many papers, plastic bottles and cans that looked like they had been there for a while.

Negatives: 1. A lot of the exercise equipment in the gym is out of order and the pool is closed. 2. Bathroom layout is awkward. The TP being hung behind the door is annoying because the door is too wide to close without hitting the toilet seat. If the shower head had been installed on the opposite side of the enclosure, then maybe a pocket door could have been installed instead allowing for a better flow. 3. USB plugs in the lamps by the bed do not work properly and cannot be used for charging any devices. 4. Shuttle service is offered at the other Homewood on Benson Drive. Why doesn't this hotel have a shuttle?

Negatives: The lack of snow/ice removal in the parking lot on Tuesday was completely unacceptable. It had stopped snowing during the night on Monday, so there was plenty of time to plow or shovel the parking lot in preparation for the next day. The parking lot was not cleared until after Wednesday morning. If anyone had fallen or got injured, the hotel would have be liable and that is completely unacceptable. The manager seemed concerned but not enough to go out and shovel.

Negatives: This is not unique to this particular Hilton. Being a dog friendly hotelfor which they charge you an extra $50they have no designated area where you can take your dog to do his businessin this case a small knoll behind parked cars.
