Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbia/Laurel

Negatives: Only one TV in the room worked (there were two). The TV that did work only had like 8 channels, which was super frustrating. We called down to the front desk and they had just said "turn to channel 22 and it should work". Doing that worked on one TV but the other one didn't stay on nor did any channels work. We booked a 1 bedroom King Suite with a pull out couch. In the reservation, I advised it would be 4 people, which means we would need both beds. The room did not include sheets, a comforter, or pillows for the pull out couch, so we called down to ask for this. They brought sheets and pillows. We had to ask for a comforter a second time when we got back later from a concert we were attending. The indoor pool wasn't functional at the time of our visit. The staff was bare minimum. It seemed like the only people working were the front desk.

Negatives: The pool was closed and I was not informed. I booked this hotel for the pool and I called the front desk a month prior to ask about the pool hours before my cancellation date. They told me it closed at 8pm! The front desk manager told me when I arrived for check in that it was closed. And had been closed for 6 months. That was my whole purpose of booking this room for my children to enjoy the pool and then we had to drive 20 mins to get to another pool at another hotel. It was very inconvenient. This should have been said when booking and definitely the front desk staff should know this information as well when people are calling. The tvs did not have streaming nor did they have many channels to choose from. The WiFi wasn’t stable on that side of the hotel. It was so hot in the hallways. The thermostat in the main room wasn’t working. My kids had to use my hot spot to have something to watch on the tablets. The key card scanner on our door kept coming off. And the side door to the hotel was not locked & the key card scanner was off and anyone can come in the side door if they pull it hard enough. This hotel needs a lot of work. I was happy to be compensated for this inconvenience but I will not be back.

Negatives: Pool was closed. The luggage cart had a flat tire. Everything else was fine.

Negatives: The ceiling fan in the bedroom didn't work. Upon departure I was told that something needed to be plugged in somewhere in the room for it to work. That should have been done prior to our arrival.

Negatives: I paid $270 for a room that smelt like puke and smoke. I've never left a bad review in my life, ever, because I knew how important reviews are when it comes to business. We got in very late to check in, it was extremely hot in the room turned on the AC that took a while to kick in, the blackout curtains or covered in stains, I went to get up the next morning to take a shower and someone had put lotion inside the conditioner bottle. That was fun. There's only one remote but I didn't even take the time to ask for another one because it was so late by the time we got in, No extra blankets for the sleep sofa.

Negatives: The indoor pool and washer wasn’t operating. The television did not have google cast but promoted google cast.

Negatives: I loved that I could cook some nights and didn’t have to eat out everyday.

Negatives: You need to put bottle of water in the refrigerator

Negatives: Nope

Negatives: The bedding was very flimsy, the sheets were very thin and crumbled looking, the comforter was too thin; the bedding was below standards for such a hotel. The parking lot was very dirty with many papers, plastic bottles and cans that looked like they had been there for a while.
