Americas Best Value Inn and Suites Saint Charles

Negatives: Sadly the television programs where badly pixelated, 3 of the lamps in the room didn't have bulbs, bathroom door wouldn't close completely, the room door stuck. Breakfast wasn't something I would offer a guest, the smell of mold hits you as soon as you enter the building, and there's no daily maid service, if u need anything you have to ask for it at the desk, and you have to take your own trash to the dumpster. Theres a few other things not mentioned, but I already feel like , although legitimate dislikes, like a nag. Would have left and made other arrangements if I was going to be anymore than 2 nights.

Negatives: The room smelled musty and the refrigerator did not work. WIFI was weird and had trouble with connecting. The "breakfast" was a joke. Two containers of cereal was about all there was. In the morning there was a silverfish bug in the plastic water glass I opened and used during the night. The sink faucet was difficult to turn off.

Negatives: Due to what seemed like staffing issues, when I went to the front desk to check in and check out there was no one at the desk. No bell or any way to contact someone. There was a line of three people waiting before we were able to get someone because the gentleman working was folding laundry, assumedly because there was no one else to do it. When we were helped, his job was made even harder by faulty equipment that puts more burden on employees and guests. The room itself was not nearly what I expected from the photos. Areas where paint is peeling off the walls, towels with obvious brown stains on them. Air ventilation in the bathroom was non existent as if the vent wasn't working properly. Patches on the bathroom walls that had been quickly patched with spackle. The door to the bathroom couldn't close because the door wasn't hanging straight. All of these things seem to be a symptom of a lack of care taken for the facility. The staff I spoke with were great in terms of taking care of what I needed. The problem seems to be with the overall management and upkeep of the facilities as a whole. If I only had to pay $65 instead of $115+, I wouldn't be complaining, but $115+ for rooms of that quality made me confident I would rather have spent more money at a better hotel.
