Positives:
Breakfast options were nice and fresh, the hotel's common spaces were well appointed and welcoming, including a nice outdoor sitting patio. Appreciated the small vending area for snacks and drinks, and the next door's gas station and its attached store was convenient for a late night snack and a morning gas refill. For those driving electric cars, there is a large Electrify America fast charging station nearby, which is always helpful (especially as still so few hotels offer reliable charging options on premise)
Negatives:
My son and I did not sleep all night: our room had a connecting door (which should be explicitly mentioned on reservations, as sound insultation of rooms with such connecting options are the worst when it comes to privacy!) to a next door's room, where a large bunch of youth partied all night. We checked in late evening and were quite tired after a long day of driving, so when we noted the loud music and screams next door upon entering our room, I went back to reception to explain the situation to the person at desk and asked whether we could change room. He told us that the hotel was full and that there was really not much they could do (?), but he offered to talk to them and told us he was confident that it would be the end of it, as he said he saw who they were (after looking their room number up on the computer) and they "were nice people" (?). As one would expect, that did nothing to the situation. After trying a few tricks to ignore the partying next door (using earplugs, sleeping under covers or hanging tight to our pillows, sleeping on the floor by the AC unit to get some white noise to cover the noise), and a few hours now into the night, I knocked on the door of our neighbors and asked to please be mindful of the late hour and the tired neighbors who are trying to sleep, and to stop the partying immediately. I was welcomed by laughter and rude mocking comments, and the party went on! These rooms' max capacity is 4 people, but there were at least 6-7 people in that room all night! I got no sympathy from reception in the morning upon checking out. Worse, as we headed to breakfast and started serving ourselves, we got harshly scolded because we did not present a breakfast voucher?! Our reservation clearly included breakfast, and such voucher had never been brought to our attention until that point of our stay.
