Great stay in New York !
Positives:
Really liked the history, the wood, the marble stairs, the room and the overall beauty and feel. Loved our room, 611, as it had its own separate foyer area which means we had two doors and it was quiet from any noise from the hotel. Room was big, clean and gorgeous. Bathroom was also big, clean and gorgeous and great shower head, pressure and hot water. Loved all the little touches such as the closet door and bathroom door. Really liked this place.
Negatives:
The only thing we did not like was not the fault of the hotel but of Booking.com. Booking said the facility fee includes "2 bottles of spring water in your room upon arrival and unlimited filtered water throughout your stay....complimentary tea and coffee 24 hours a day...two complimentary welcome life signature cocktails on the day of arrival." Life Hotel does not have a bar or any food facilities so the manager looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about our complimentary drinks. No water bottles in room and no unlimited filtered water. Coffee and tea were not out 24 hours a day. If Booking and/or the Hotel could clear up this confusion, I think it will help future consumers.

Positives:
The room had a certain charm, it was spacious, and the location was excellent, a lot of places were either walkable or you could get the metro.
Negatives:
Amenities. It is no excuse that you have room service / cafe coming up at some point in future. The water dispensers were on alternate floors, there was no kettle in the room neither were they able to provide it upon request, i.e. something as simple as 'hot water' to make tea.

It is somewhat charming and very well located, but you can ONLY sleep there.
Positives:
Location was perfect for sightseeing and Broadway plays. Very close to several different subway lines. Bed was comfy. Staff was giving out umbrellas on a rainy day. We read that the air conditioning was a problem before, but it must have been fixed since we didnt notice anything
Negatives:
Restaurant and bar are still in the works. Water and ice are only available on three floors. There are two small elevators, but only one goes to the top floor. The lobby is cool and smells nice, but our room smelled like pickles.

Quaint boutique hotel just steps from the Empire State Building
Positives:
The location is ideal for a short stay in the city as it is close to attractions as well as transportation. The room is not big but the bathroom is of a decent size; bed is comfortable and the whole place is clean. The restaurant was not open yet but we appreciated the complimentary coffee in the morning.
Negatives:
It will be great when the bar and restaurant opens as it's just reopened. The sound from the streets were quite loud, better soundproofing would be great.
