The view from the room was amazing and the decor in the lobby was great

Our room wasn’t cleaned during a 5 night stay. I would expect at least towels changed once per day and the bed made up for the cost of this hotel but I had to specifically ask for any sort of room cleaning.
We were given no information on check in about the hotel. Timing of breakfast, room service availability etc. it is supposedly 24 hours room service but every time I called I was told nothing was available.
The AC in the room desperately needs to be updated it swapped between cold and hot air and was incredibly noisy.
I was lied to by the staff, when I booked a taxi they told me the flat rate to JFK wasn’t applicable when pickup was from Manhattan so instead of paying 75 I was charged 110 and it was not a taxi at all, the driver wasn’t able to read the satellite navigation and took several wrong turns on the way to the airport.
There’s no room service and also no fridge in the rooms I was really disappointed considering the cost of this hotel. I won’t stay again.

No hot water for 2 days. 0nly one socket working in the room. No apologies or explanation from the staff. Terrible aircon that was either too hot or too cold. Queues to get into elevator most of the time. Front desk staff were inexperienced and indifferent.

Nice room with big balcony. Good bathroom with Aveda products.
The hotel puts a €30 credit onto each room each day which is a nice “treat” to be spent in the bar/ restaurant.
Bed was very very comfortable
Negatives:
Unfortunately there was a gas outage in the area so we had NO hot water for almost 2 days of our 3 night stay! Clearly that is outside the hotel’s control but the communication around it was quite poor- almost as if it were a common issue with nothing to be done.
We were offered passes to a gym that was located quite a distance away (after I asked if there was any alternative option given no news about it being reinstated.)
We opted to continue with the cold showers! No apology/mention offered on checkout. When I asked about that I was offered 10k Marriott points on my account. I have no idea what value that represents. This should have been better handled.
Wardrobe space in our room was extremely limited. No long hanging for a dress, just one short rail in a cupboard for a few shirts

The staff were very friendly, the room was comfy, good size TV, the shower was great and invigorating. The cleaners did a great job everyday of making the room up. The receptionists were great and always very helpful. The location was useful for the subway.

The location felt quite run-down. There’s a goodwill across the road and it seemed to attract plenty of crazies.
The room service, whilst delivered quickly was both expensive and a limited choice. There were no breakfast options.
The $30 per day allowance was great.. but when breakfast is $35 each it feels a bit meh.
We travelled with a baby, I had messaged the hotel twice via Booking.com to request a cot and they never responded. I ended up having to call from the UK, spoke to reception and they said they’d make arrangements. When we checked there was no cot and we had to ask again. The cot that was provided had no mattress so we had to cobble something together from blankets.
The room storage was pretty measly, with a tiny single wardrobe and only a few drawers.

We didn't have hot water for two days! No matter was the reason, a hotel must have a contingency plan for this kind of event, very disappointed, we have to make our plans to have a shower in other place!

I arrived EWR @6am, the staff let me check-in early which is brilliant! Appreciated the on-duty staffs’ consideration after a long flight and let me have a comfortable place to re-charge asap. EMAD offered his helping hand to guide me to the room and share info about the city made me feel calm to stay.
Negatives:
Hot water in both room was not working well.
