Fantastic location, great value, clean...
Positives:
The staff was helpful in every way, and the room was very clean and comfortable. It was conveniently located next to many of the theaters we were headed to for the weekend, from low key comedy lounges to Broadway. Our favorite dim sum spot in Chinatown was one 15 minute train ride away. I saw some reviews saying they were disappointed that the lobby was dead. You're in the middle of Manhattan and a short walk from Hell's Kitchen around plenty of bars and exciting things, so you're actually relieved when you come back to a quiet hotel lobby at the end of the day. P.S. There's also a quaint gym that's perfect with simple equipment and free weights if you need to sneak a quick workout in during your trip.

Open the restaurant and bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only was it inconvenient, the hotel felt dark and empty. Depressing.

Positives:
It was quiet and the staff were terrific. I liked the lobby a lot and the staff were very accommodating when we wanted to hang out there after we checked out (it was so hot outside). They also allowed us to leave our bags with them for a few more hours. The room was fine, too.
Negatives:
The room was kind of depressing. There is no view out the window and it smelled like cigarettes, or more likely, marijuana. It was a non-smoking room but there was no getting away from the smell in the room.

Very comfortable and clean. Rooms were quite large based on NYC standards, with very comfortable beds. There was no wait for any of the elevators. A really great location - convenient for so many sites. Rooms and hotel are quiet even though the hotel is so centrally located.
Negatives:
The hotel is a little dated but not an issue in terms of cleanliness or comfort and rooms are a bit bigger than the newer construction. No coffee maker
