Room had ripped curtains that didn’t close all the way so I had to put a chair against them—bright lights from pool area outside. It was very busy place and everyone had to go through a small hallway to get anywhere in the hotel.

Hotel is run down and needs renovation. AC unit so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep. No shade on window that could be closed to block outside lights for sleeping. Lamp shades torn and falling apart. Desk cracked. Closet door warped and wouldn’t close. I would not stay here again and we have to be very careful best booking any Comfort Inn in the future.

The customer service was decent, even though I had to pay a $50 deposit upon arrival after already having paid for the room two weeks before the trip. I understand that it was a deposit for damages, but I feel like you should be told about that ahead of time.
Negatives:
There were several issues with our room.. We killed several bugs, mainly roaches. The sheets, although they seemed clean, were all discolored and stained and the beds were just uncomfortable. We also had a light out by one of the beds. As far as the bathroom, everything seemed clean, but the toilet stopper didn't work properly so it ran most of our stay and the tub backed up each time one of us took a shower.

The general manager is terrible. We arrived and waited over 30 minutes in line just to check in and when it was finally our turn she argued with us stating my card was not valid, however, I had paid through booking months in advance, had a confirmation number, and proof of payment. After spending over an hour on the phone with booking and having to be passed off on another employee at the front desk, he was decent enough to actually talk to booking and not put them on hold or argue with them and apologized and got us in a room immediately. The “general manager” I believe her name was Mia(?) then stated it was my fault that I booked through a third party and that I should always book direct even though I travel often and have always booked through booking and have NEVER had an issue. I guess she didn’t like that she was wrong because she continued to glare at us in the hallways after we were finally given a room. Took up over an hour of my time and made us late to our event and was not even offered as much as an apology from her. This was the most awful customer service experience. She also continued to try to check in other guests behind me while continuing to put booking on hold, not really trying to solve the issue at all and when I asked to speak to her manager her response was “I am the general manager.” We were treated like we were such an inconvenience to her. But shout out the guy that was working behind the desk, it took him all of maybe 10 minutes to resolve the issue and apologized to us and got us in a room. As far as the room, it was musty and we also found roaches in the bathroom. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. I’m sure they get a ton of business being located right in front of Carowinds but with such poor management I wouldn’t be surprised if they started losing business. We were not even given the same kind of room that we booked.

The floor in my room was filthy … they had a party in the reception hall and the music was blaring …. My door was so lose it barely locked … charging ports did not work by the bed …. U couldn’t get back in the building from outside with your key…
