La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Amarillo Airport

Negatives: The man at the front desk was very slow and very unfriendly. He was overwhelmed by the amount of check ins at the time of my check in. I have stayed at LaQuinta hotels for many years and since they have always been very pet friendly, I assumed that they still were. They are pet friendly but they do not tell you when you book in advance that you are now going to pay for that pet friendly. I have never paid an extra fee at LaQuinta for a pet. I had booked my room in advance and had requested a room on the ground floor. I am a 77 female traveling by myself with small dogs and wanted NOT to go up an elevator. So when I got a room on the 2nd floor I asked the man at the front desk if he had a ground floor room as I had requested one, I was told that there are only 5 rooms on the ground floor and they are reserved in advance. I told him that I had reserved in advance and had made that request. He seemed to not care and told me my room was on the 2nd floor. How the man that checked in ahead of me was a walk in that did not have a reservation and he was given a ground room floor. This is what upset me! The hotel is very nice but the road noise was overwhelming for a new hotel. I did not eat the breakfast. The room was clean. The only interaction that I had with the staff was the man on the desk when I checked in.
