Hampton Inn By Hilton Lubbock

Negatives: I understand it was thanksgiving and the cleaning staff was off for the holidays but, they should have made sure all rooms had trash bags in them. I had brought my dog and didn’t want to throw the dog food cans in the trash receptacle without a bag because the canister would have been nasty and would have to be washed. I was also disappointed that the hot tub was out of order. It would be nice if the indoor pool was vented in someway to keep the humidity in the air down a bit as it was hard to breathe, but the latter had nothing to do with my rating because I know that’s a hard issue to prevent. All in all, the staff, (the one man at the desk) was amazing but the building could use some TLC. Also, my grandson was verbally assaulted at the front of the building by someone I can only assume was drunk. It was an elderly woman that told him she would be sleeping on the beach outside. He, being young and compassionate, perhaps naive is a better word, offered to take her to a shelter when she started screaming at him that she’d rather sleep on the bench in freezing weather. She then screamed at him that she’s an old lady and he shouldn’t talk to him like that. He had said nothing out of line to her, just offered to take her somewhere safe. About that point, I remembered I had left my firearm in the glove compartment of my car so I went to retrieve it because I was worried more mentally unstable people might be on or around the building and didn’t want anyone in that condition to break in my car and find it. I retrieved my gun and was telling my grandson to get back in the building. He complied while she continued to scream at him. My daughter was keeping an eye on the situation in case it escalated. I understand the hotel cannot be responsible for the homeless problem in Lubbock and other urban areas but, to think that one man was on the property that night is ridiculous. What if it had been 3 or 4 homeless men harassing your guests?

Negatives: Old there was a smell of just mildew and the room was freezing

Negatives: No complaints

Negatives: The shower was weird. I was unable to get the shower to turn on. I even asked one of the cleaning ladies and she didn’t know how either. I guess you’re supposed to pull down on the spout. There is nothing to indicate that so I just took a splashy kind of bath. The bottom of the tub was quite dirty. The girl at the registration said it’s because of some new cleaner they are using is making the anti slip come off ?? I could tell it wasn’t actual dirt would have liked to have a nice hot shower.

Negatives: Online stated "Pet Friendly" after you pay $75.00 .

Negatives: First room had a very strong Oder of chlorine . Had to change rooms.

Negatives: Shower/bath tub is very slippery almost fell while trying to get in the shower. Also light in bathroom over sinks very dim. Light would flicker then would go out. Room #302

Negatives: Pool cold, hot tub didn’t work
